#0140 Drive Carefully by James Chressanthis

13.5" x 19.75"

Archival Print on Acid Free Paper from Photographic, Hand Drawn, and Scanned Media

In Drive Carefully photographs from a village in Greece and Las Vegas, scans of tin votives, hand drawn elements and a digital wand play together. My pictures are my record. I move freely between observational photography, drawing, painting, physical & digital collage, found and mixed media. You could say they are the movies that run in my head. The more painterly works I think of as the journey of the spirit, a subjective personal search through history. What does it all mean?

James Chressanthis, ASC, GSC is an award winning director and cinematographer of motion pictures, television drama, documentaries, music videos and experimental films. He maintains his home and studio in Topanga, California with his life partner, artist, Robin Becker.

#0160 Phylomenia's Laundry by David Darby ASC

19" x 12.5"

Archival Pigment, Canson Platine Rag

“Phylomenia’s Laundry,” was taken on the tiny Irish island of “Inishturk,” in 2018. The Donkey known as “Chip Chip” belonged to an elderly widower who lived in a farm house well above Phylomenia. After the widower died, there was no one to care for the donkey – so it started coming down through the fields and broken walls, to visit Phylomenia – and she started to feed him. And so it goes.

David Darby ASC is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles, CA. He has spent the last 30-plus years shooting national and international television commercials, and a few indie films. It all began however, at age 12 with a stills camera and a black & white film. It continues today, with as much to learn as ever. And that’s the point.
